Ohio AAA Blue Jackets Player Signs With Smith Falls Bears
T1EHL congratulates Ohio AAA Blue Jackets 18U player Jonathan Sonedecker on signing with the Smiths Falls Bears of the CCHL.
A well-rounded and productive forward, Sonedecker has been a key contributor for the program at all levels. Over the past two seasons at the 18U level, Sonedecker racked up 45 goals, 45 assists and 90 points in 117 games played. Prior to that, he tallied 46 points in each season at the 15O and 16U levels, respectively.
The Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) is a Canadian junior A hockey league operating in eastern Ontario. The league is sanctioned by Hockey Eastern Ontario and Hockey Canada and is a member of the Canadian Junior Hockey League. The CCHL began as a development league founded by the Montreal Canadiens in 1961. Seeking a place in Ontario for its’ prospects, the league was built and used as a prime source until the draft system changed in the late sixties. By the seventies, teams were among the best in Canada. A reemphasis on development took place in the eighties when the Central league created rules and regulations that ensured younger rosters and an emphasis on development. This philosophy remains, as the CCHL is annually a league sending a large number of young players to higher levels.
T1EHL congratulates all of its players who continue to advance in the ranks of hockey. Where can you go from here? Everywhere.
