Former LA Jr. Kings Player Commits to University of Connecticut
T1EHL congratulates former Los Angeles Jr. King, Aidan Metcalfe, on his commitment to the University of Connecticut.
Metcalfe, 21, just completed his second and final season of junior hockey in the North American Hockey League (NAHL) for the Robertson Cup champion Shreveport Mudbugs.
Metcalfe, a forward, tallied 18 points (all assists) in 55 regular-season games during the 2020-21 season. He also added four points in 10 Robertson Cup playoff games.
“Aidan plays a very consistent brand of hockey that consists of subtle but effective plays,” said Mudbugs head coach Jason Campbell. “He’ll take hits to make plays and plays a tough brand of hockey. He’ll be a great teammate at UConn and the community will love him.”
During the 2019-20 season, Metcalfe was named to the NAHL All-South Division Rookie Team after tallying 23 points in 43 games.
UConn is a member of Hockey East and a NCAA Division I hockey school.
