Chicago Fury Crowned Connor 11U Division Champions with a Striking Win

The Chicago Fury delivered a stellar performance to defeat the Ohio AAA Bluejackets 5-2 in the Tier 1 Elite Hockey League 11U Connor Division Championship game on December 15 at Tittle Brothers Construction Arena. A dynamic offensive display and solid goaltending secured the Fury the title.

The Jackets struck first, with a goal from Vincent Machi (#25) off assists by Liam Carroll (#88) and Cooper Smith (#34). However, the Fury’s answered back quickly when Kamden Pfieffer (#55) found the back of the net, assisted by Ethan Wielgus (#29). Henry Pummer (#5) quickly added two goals, with Lucas Liu (#91) and Anthony Plude (#9) providing the setup on both tallies, giving Chicago a 3-1 lead heading into the final period.

In the third period, the Fury pushed to a 4-1 lead with a goal from Maxim Gospodaru (#11) scored with help from Wielgus. Ohio’s John Arvai closed the gap with assists from Nolan Sprague and Ben Carlson. But the Fury’s Ryan Pisterzi (#95), finished the contest with a unassisted tally to conclude the game 5-2 in the Fury’s favor.

Fury goaltender Braxton Paszko (#1) stood tall in net, making 25 saves on 27 shots, while his teammates maintained a steady offensive pace, outshooting Ohio in the critical moments. Despite a valiant effort by Ohio’s Hunter Baxendell (#29), who faced 23 shots, Chicago’s firepower proved too much.

This win showcased the Chicago Fury’s depth and determination, earning them the Connor Division Championship and cementing their place as one of the league’s top teams this season. Congrats to all on a stellar weekend of hockey!
