Jr Sabres Emerge Victorious in Larkin 11U

DETROIT, MI – The Buffalo Jr. Sabres 11U squad delivered a powerful offensive showcase to claim the 2025 Tier 1 Elite League 11U Larkin Division Championship, defeating the Dallas Stars Elite 10-4 on December 14 at the Tittle Brothers Construction rink. The game featured a steady stream of goals, with Buffalo answering every push from Dallas and pulling away with a dominant third period.

Buffalo opened the scoring early at 13:02 of the first when Robert Mackellar V (#88) found the net off a pass from Reece Janosz (#10) . Dallas tied things up at 8:56, with a goal from Jack Sneed (#3) . The Jr. Sabres reclaimed the lead at 8:10, thanks to a solo effort from Janosz (#10), and then made it 3-1 at 4:14, with Eli Albrechcinski (#11) converting a setup from Jax Arnone (#77) .

Dallas pulled within one at 0:46 when Beckett Lampman (#91) scored with help from Grant Hickey (#86) to end the scoring of the First Period.

In the Second, Buffalo roared back with a three-goal flurry: Cole Smith (#6) struck first at 8:25 on a feed from Arnone and Logan Gentner (#26); Mackellar tallied his second of the game at 5:20, assisted by Mason Morath (#16); and Gavin Peters (#9) made it 6-2 at 4:23, also assisted by Morath. Dallas’s William Reyes (#8) broke the streak with an assist coming from Boone Salyer (#17), Dallas’s Semis player of the game.

But the Buffalo onslaught continued as Albrechcinski netted his second of the game unassisted at 3:16, followed by Janosz scoring his second with 1:09 left in the period off another assist from Arnone . Dallas fought back briefly in the third, scoring at 8:00 with Rylan Mewett (#4) finishing a play from Mina Chen (#98) and Blaise Gauthe (#44), but Buffalo responded again. Peters scored his second goal at 5:43, assisted by Morath and Jayce Gronkowski (#24), and Janosz completed his hat trick at 0:42 with a goal assisted by Dylan Kwiatek (#12) .

Goaltender Liam Kleinberg (#5) turned away 39 of 43 shots in net for Buffalo, while Dallas goaltender Camden Rubio (#27) faced 35 shots. Despite flashes of offense from the Stars Elite, Buffalo’s overwhelming puck control and finishing ability made the difference.

With a balanced attack, timely responses, and standout performances from Janosz (3G, 1A), Mackellar (2G), Albrechcinski (2G), and Peters (2G), the Buffalo Jr. Sabres 11U team captured the 2025 Larkin Division title and closed out their playoff run in emphatic fashion.
