DETROIT, MI – The Philadelphia Jr. Flyers delivered a commanding performance to claim the 13O Slavin Division Championship, defeating the Colorado Thunderbirds 5-2 on December 7 in a high-energy playoff battle at the Tittle Brothers Construction rink. With explosive scoring, smart puck movement, and steady goaltending, the Flyers skated away with the win and earned the title of champion and the Tier 1 Elite Hockey League glory.

First Period – Flyers Take Flight Early

Philadelphia wasted no time imposing their will, striking just 5:22 into the game when Colton Liam Clark (#24) converted on a setup from Gavin Clark (#25) and Matthew Lux (#15) to open the scoring. At the 5:22 mark of the first, Philly struck again, this time Washkalavitch (#8) on a set up from Liam Clark (#24) and Gavin Clark (#25).

Then, with just 19 seconds remaining in the first period, Liam Clark (#24) buried another goal, this time assisted by Jack Baker (#13), giving the Flyers a commanding 3-0 lead heading into intermission.

Second Period – Colorado Pushes Back

The Thunderbirds responded with resilience, finally breaking through at 2:45 into the period (12:15 on the game clock) when MacLaren Hartogh (#19) finished a play from Warren Johnson (#18) and Tristan O’Neil (#42), cutting the lead to 3-1.

But Philadelphia struck again midway through the frame as Liam Clark (#24) completed his hat trick at 10:07 remaining in the period, assisted once again by Gavin Clark (#25) and Matthew Lux (#15) to restore the Flyers’ three-goal advantage.

Third Period – Closing It Out

Colorado gave their fans something to cheer for with a strong goal at 11:51 remaining (3:09 on the clock) from Greyson Bickert (#5), with assists from Hartogh (#19) and Maxwell Landa (#9), making it a 4-2 game.

However, any hope of a comeback was dashed with just 1:07 left when Joshua Warren (#14) put the game on ice with an unassisted dagger, sealing the 5-2 final and igniting celebrations on the Philadelphia bench.
